Free Mental Health Camp

A free mental health camp was organized by Mr. Rakesh Harmilapi at Shree Harmilap Mission Charitable Dispensary on 7th August, 2011. Dr Arvind Gupta provided consultation to people suffering from Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, OCD and other disorders.

A free mental health camp will be held at Auriga Psychiatry Centre on Sunday, 4th Dec, 2011 from 10 am to 1 pm. There will be discount of 20% on all blood tests.

Welcome To Auriga Psychiatry Centre

Psychiatric illnesses are medical conditions that disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, behaviour, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. Just as diabetes and hypertension, mental illnesses are medical conditions that often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life. Serious mental illnesses include major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Mental illnesses can affect persons of any age, race, religion or income. Mental illnesses are not the result of personal weakness or lack of character. Mental illnesses are treatable. Most people diagnosed with a serious mental illness can experience relief from their symptoms by actively participating in an individualized treatment plan.

SOME POINTS TO CONSIDER

  • Mental illnesses are treatable
  • They are like any other physical disorder like diabetes (high blood sugar), hypertension(high blood pressure)
  • Mental illness occur because of chemical imbalance in the brain that be treated with medication and psychotherapy
  • Most of the people can continue with their normal lives while on treatment
  • Rather than suffering in silence, seek help
  • Psychiatric medication is non – addictive
